Company History

Citizens Car Service is a for-profit (C) Corporation incorporated in the State of Michigan on August 19, 1985 as Citizens Leasing Corp. At that time, we operated as Citizens Cab Co., with a single independent taxicab licensed in the City of Detroit.

Upon deregulation of the airport transportation industry in that year, founders Jim and Patty Klein purchased a 1976 Oldsmobile Sedan and began offering airport transfers with a focus on safety, comfort and reliability. Then, as now, it was our goal to offer the highest possible value at the lowest possible price.

With well over 100,000 trips dispatched safely and reliably, and thousands upon thousands of satisfied clients, we know what the customer wants and we know how to provide it.

All of our drivers are engaged pursuant to background checking and most have extensive previous experience in the vehicle-for-hire industry.

There has never been a personal injury claim against this Company.

Citizens Car Service operates under the authority of the Michigan Department of Transportation. Our MDOT number is L-0126.

Citizens Car Service is engaged in the business of arranging ground transportation and our primary product is Dispatch Services.
